William Felty – Refined Transitions

William Felty, Founder and owner of Refined Transitions sat down with Rise Up Radio hosts Jared Kelley and James Carmody to discuss how his struggle with addiction led him to create Refined Transitions. Felty, a former Marine is also the co-founder of the Circle of Heroes Initiative. He served in the Marine Corps for four years from 2003-2007 and he opens up about his struggle through the transition back into the civilian life fed his addiction to alcohol. Felty who grew up in a broken home driven by addiction, tells Carmody and Kelley that in 2011 he decided enough was enough. “I knew if I was ever going to be successful, if I was going to be happy and if I was going to be free I had to stop drinking. I’ve been sober over nine years now.” Having overcome his addiction, Felty’s life has come full circle. He discusses what a blessing it is to now work with families and others to get free from or prevent addiction behaviors. According to Felty, statistic show that the second leading cause of death for young adults ages 18-32 is suicide and that young men are four times more likely to die from suicide. He explains how Circle of Heroes provides mentoring and a support system for young men to have a place to come and talk with those who can help.


Barbara Maisonet – Life Coach Specialist

Barbara Maisonet, Life Coach Specialist and entrepreneur sat down with Rise Up Radio hosts, James Carmody and Jared Kelley to talk about her company Barbara Maisonet Inc. and how she is helping women discover just how possible it is to juggle being a mom and a business owner with style and grace and be profitable at the same time. Maisonet explains how as a single mom she wanted to be able to work from home so she could be there for her son and in having this desire, she realized being an entrepreneur would make that possible. She started her own successful swimming lesson company and realized she could help women not only realize their potential, but to focus that potential. The desire to help others led her to start her life coaching services. “It’s about being intentional, we always have a choice, but whether you make an empowering choice or a disempowering choice.” She explains. “What does it cost you and your loved one(s) when you say yes when you know the right answer to the question is no and what do you gain when you choose to feel guilty about the choices you make?” Maisonet asks. She goes on to explain that not only is feeling guilty is a choice, but asking and answering the right questions is what leads people to making those empowering choices. Maisonet also provides life/success coaching to managers, CEO’s, Entrepreneurs, investors, parents, business owners and more.
